Patients Complaints Procedures

To be updated.

Complaints escalation paths are to complaint to the practice in the first instance or to the NHS England complaints department. However we must clarify that patients cannot complain to both parties therefore if a patient complains to the practice the NHS England cannot investigate and vice versa. However if a matter is not resolved then it can be raised to the Health Service and Parliamentary Ombudsman in London. If it is a community care matter or relevant to primary care, then the Clinical Care Commissioning Group also have a complaints process. All of these processes and the details can be found on the websites of these organisations or a variety of other information and processes, depending on the issue and what organisation the problem is with are listed on the national NHS website called NHS Choices.
